*According to Emergency Department Violence Surveillance (EDVS) Study conducted by the Emergency Nurses Association between 2009 and 2011, The overall frequency of physical violence and verbal abuse experienced by emergency room nurses during a seven-day period is 54.5% across all rounds. Physical violence with or without verbal abuse was reported 12.1% and verbal abuse only reported 42.5%, during the seven-day period.
